I've seen on some folks' web pages they seal their jigs. This especially seems to be the case with radius dishes. I have recently made a thickness gauge out of MDF and a dial gauge from HF ![]() ![]() |

Hey Nay (almost a song in that!) I make mdf radius dishes for sale. I finish them with two coats water based varathane. It is hard, easy to apply, dries fast and is reasonably priced in that I do a LOT of dishes with one gallon of the stuff. The first coat raises the grain a bit, a quick scuff with 120 paper, coat #2 and another quick scuff with220 paper and it is smooth and ready for action! I don't seal my moulds though, no particular reason why not I just haven't seen the need. Shane |

I've taken to spraying my "jigs and things" with whatever is in my cup when I'm done spraying. It beats spraying it into a paper towel. long |
